Ametrine
Discover Serendipity’s ametrine jewellery — handcrafted in sterling silver by Johanna Rodriguez in her Sydney workshop. Ametrine is a rare and visually striking bicolour gemstone — a natural variety of quartz that combines amethyst purple and citrine golden yellow in a single crystal.Naturally occurring ametrine comes almost exclusively from the Anahi mine in Bolivia. The distinct colour zones form naturally due to variations in temperature and oxidation during the crystal’s growth — no treatment or mixing is involved. The contrast between purple and gold makes ametrine one of the most unique gemstones in jewellery, and no two stones show identical colour distribution.Ametrine combines the properties of both its parent stones: the calming, clarifying energy of amethyst with the positivity and abundance of citrine. It is sometimes called the stone of balance for its dual nature. Ametrine scores 7 on the Mohs scale — durable for everyday wear. Our ametrine jewellery includes ametrine earrings, rings and pendants — all handmade in Australia. A distinctive gift for those who love unusual gemstones. Free AU shipping on orders over $99.
